
Let’s talk about the 600mm 1500W Carbon Fiber Lamp
If you’re running an industrial oven and you’re tired of waiting forever for things to heat up, these carbon fiber lamps are for you. Most people are used to those old-school quartz coils. But these are different. We use a conductive carbon composite that pumps out high-intensity infrared heat. Instead of just warming the air around your product, this heat actually penetrates the material. It’s faster. Much faster. The nitty-gritty on power We set these up at 220V and 1500W over a 600mm stretch. This gives you a really concentrated punch of heat, which means your ramp-up times drop significantly. But here’s a pro tip: keep your power supply stable. If your voltage is jumping all over the place, you’re going to kill the filament way sooner than you should. Give it a clean feed, and it’ll last. Why carbon fiber? Metal alloys take a while to get going. Carbon fiber doesn’t. It hits its peak temperature almost the second you flip the switch. To keep the carbon from burning up (oxidation), we tuck it inside a high-purity quartz tube. We went with the 600mm size because it’s a sweet spot for medium curing ovens and drying tunnels. You get a nice, wide spread of heat without those annoying “hot spots” that usually happen with smaller, high-wattage tubes. Getting them installed These are pretty easy to swap into most shortwave IR systems. You’ll notice your warm-up cycles get a lot shorter, which is a win for any workflow. Just a heads-up, though—be gentle with the quartz. The carbon fiber inside can handle the heat shock, but the glass tube is still glass. If you bash it or crank the mounting clips too tight, it’ll crack. Also, double-check your ventilation. 1500W of radiant heat per lamp is a lot of energy. Make sure your chassis can breathe, or you’re going to overheat the whole rig.
