It hits target temperatures way faster than those old-school metallic coils.
The Power Side of Things
1200W is a lot of punch for such a small lamp. Because we use a carbon fiber filament, the heat doesn’t just clump in one spot; it spreads evenly across the whole tube. It’s fast. Really fast. But a quick word of advice: since you’re packing so much power into a compact size, double-check your wiring. Make sure your controllers can handle the current draw, or you’ll end up with overheating terminals, and nobody wants that.
Why Ruby Quartz and Carbon Fiber?
You’ve seen standard clear quartz. Ruby quartz is different. We’ve tuned it to filter the light, pushing the emission into that medium-wave infrared sweet spot. Then there’s the carbon fiber. Unlike tungsten, these elements don’t just give up the ghost when you cycle them on and off rapidly. They can take a beating. The ruby glass keeps the filament from oxidizing and manages the heat, but it’s not invincible. Keep the glass clean. If you let oils build up, you’ll get hot spots, and that’s how you get premature cracks.
Putting it to Work
You’ll mostly see these in PET blowing machines, drying tunnels, or curing lines. Here’s the cool part: that medium-wave heat actually sinks into plastics and coatings. It doesn’t just sear the surface and leave the inside cold; it penetrates deep. One last thing—keep your reflectors spotless.
