A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Now, these aren’t “plug and play” in the simplest sense. You’ll need a decent voltage regulator. Here’s the quirk: carbon fiber has a negative temperature coefficient. In plain English? As it gets hotter, the resistance drops. If you just plug it into a basic circuit, the current can run away from you. You need a stable power supply to keep things under control. Also, remember that these lamps are built for speed, not storage. They heat up instantly, but they don’t hold onto that heat once the power cuts. You’ll want a fast-acting controller to keep your temperature window tight. One last tip: make sure your oven has decent airflow. If heat just sits there around the 460mm tube, it can eat away at the end-caps and shorten the life of the lamp. Keep it breathing, and it’ll last a long time.
