When you’re picking your voltage and wattage, you’re basically deciding how hard you want the heat to hit. High wattage is great for those fast-cycle jobs, but you have to be smart about it. If you cram too much power into a short tube, you’ll fry the end caps. And a heads-up: keep your power supply steady. A single voltage spike can snap a filament in a heartbeat. It’s a quick way to ruin your day. What’s actually inside? We use clear quartz glass because we want that infrared energy to get out there without any interference. No coatings, no filters—just direct heat. The carbon fiber core is an interesting beast. It doesn’t need to get as hot as tungsten to move a ton of energy in the medium-wave range. We can do different end-caps too, whether you need a threaded connection or a press-fit. But here is the most important part:**the seal has to be perfect.**If even a tiny bit of oxygen leaks into that tube, the carbon fiber will oxidize and the lamp will die in a few hours. It’s that sensitive. The trade-offs These are a great fit if you’re looking to swap out lamps in PET blowing or curing lines. You’ll notice the warm-up time practically disappears. But there’s a catch. Carbon fiber is a bit more fragile than metal. You can’t just toss these around. If your team is rough with them during installation or puts too much stress on the leads, they’ll snap. Make sure your mounting brackets are dialed in. If they vibrate, you’re asking for trouble. Keep it steady, handle them with care, and they’ll do the heavy lifting for you.
