If you’ve ever dealt with smudged ink or bleed on a fast-moving printing line, you know it’s a nightmare. You need those solvents to vanish now, or the whole batch is ruined. That’s why we build our infrared lamps the way we do—focusing on raw heat and the right kind of light to get the job done fast. The secret is in the heat density. Most of our lamps use shortwave IR. We pack a lot of wattage into a short length of tube so the ink cures the second it hits the light. If you’re running a high-speed press, you can’t afford to be timid with your wattage. But here’s the thing: it’s a balancing act. A 2000W lamp puts out an incredible amount of heat. But if your conveyor slows down? You’ll scorch your substrate right there on the belt. You have to match your lamp’s power to your line speed, or you’re just making expensive toast. To handle that kind of intensity, we use heavy-wall quartz glass. It keeps the tube from bowing or warping when things get scorching hot. What’s inside the tube? We fill our quartz tubes with halogen. This pushes the energy into the shortwave range, which means the heat sinks deep into the ink layer instead of just baking the surface. As for the plugs, we stick to standard R7s or SK15 bases. They just work. You can swap them into most systems without a headache. One thing we refuse to compromise on is the seal. A lot of cheap lamps use low-grade adhesives that leak gas, and then your filament burns out in a few weeks. It’s frustrating and wasteful. We use fused quartz seals because they can take a beating in a 24/7 production environment. A quick word of caution on installation. Our lamps are designed to slide right into your existing setup, so you won’t need to rip out your wiring. But remember, high-output lamps throw off a ton of ambient heat. If you decide to upgrade to a higher wattage, double-check your exhaust fans. If you aren’t pulling that hot air away, you might find your machine frame starting to warp. Keep the air moving, and you’re golden.
